jamie Leigh
After attending the prestigious and nationally ranked Atlanta School of Aesthetics and earning her license in 2009, Jamie was asked to join the inaugurating team of Exhale Spa, an international wellness spa located inside the luxurious Lowes Hotel in Atlanta. Within six months of opening, Jamie’s leadership and talent earned her the role of Lead Esthetician. From onboarding all client service staff, to training licensed professionals on spa services and products, Jamie’s ability to think on her feet and innovate facial protocols and massage techniques, made her a sought-after esthetician in Atlanta and an integral part of Exhale Spa and the center’s growing reputation.
By late 2011, Jamie’s growing clientele, expanded knowledge and innovative spirit as Lead Esthetician, had earned her the role of go-to skin therapist and trusted professional in Atlanta. After receiving a request for an oncology facial treatment from a woman undergoing chemotherapy, Jamie understood that research and successful application of essential healing services for immunocompromised individuals was desperately needed in the industry. Less than a year after performing the first oncology facial treatment, Jamie earned her certificates in Oncology Esthetics from Tina Y. McLendon and Morag Currin of The Skin Care Therapy Institute and Oncology Training International respectively. Jamie’s newfound knowledge and oncology certifications propelled her research into harmful chemicals and their impact on the human body. More specifically in hormone imbalances, gut health, women and breast cancer. Jamie became adept at identifying and truly understanding the ingredients in the products being used inside and outside of the treatment room by her clients. Thus, starting Jamie’s "Green Beauty Movement."
Jamie’s Green Beauty Movement is rooted in knowledge; the power and function of plant-based ingredients and the role they play in the products people use on their largest organ, their skin! By eliminating harmful chemicals and ingredients from the line of products used in the spa and in at-home skin routines, Jamie’s approach to beauty is holistic in nature. For her, holistic wellness goes a step further, because it goes beyond plant-based products, her movement is centered around the spirit, mind and body experience as a whole. Jamie’s passion for knowledge, education and beauty transcends to her spa’s service menu. Jamie’s experience, combined with her educational achievements by nationally and internationally recognized industry experts, have all contributed to her achievements and recognition as a pioneer in the holistic field in Atlanta and the Southeast.
Jamie’s original concept space, MODERN Holistic Skin - established September 1, 2018 is the first spa of its kind, and home to client experiences that can only be found in a place where knowledge and expertise underpin every skin ritual, facial treatment and her hand-method technique - her most potent tool- allowing her to support a wide range of client needs. Other techniques and modalities used in treatments include: Gua Sha, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Thai Herbal Poultice, Facial Cupping, Connective Tissue Manipulation, Facial and Vagus Nerve Reflexology and more. Jamie’s comprehensive and functional facial experiences use ancient facial techniques and Chinese Medicine that genuinely change the skin from deep within without exposure to machines or chemicals.
“After years of extensive research and exhaustive education, I felt that it was time to create a skincare business that supported holistic beauty from the ground up. My philosophy on facials is uniquely different from how licensed estheticians are formally trained. Rather than focusing on short-term, external skincare goals, my healing modalities are centered around achieving long-lasting and sustainable change, by strengthening the internal body and promoting cell-renewal from within” - Jamie Leigh
Jamie resides in Roswell, Georgia, where she is raising her two young daughters. Outside of her business, her hobbies include hosting and entertaining friends, hiking trails, practicing yoga, participating in community activities, attending city events, and of course, enjoying Atlanta's fine cuisine. Jamie continues to pave the way for holistic beauty and continues to make strides in her profession.
